Spare time I acquired

It is a cliche to say that you won't get better at anything without a constant practice but it is certainly correct I suppose. Thus it is time to write an another blog.

There are lots of differences between Japan and any other countries and the one of the biggest is wage. I have never had a full-time job before so I can't talk from that aspect but I have experienced some amounts of part-time job in Japan and New Zealand now so let me talk from that experiences.

I have experienced part-time job in convenience store and Costco in Japan, and I'm working as a kitchen hand in a restaurant and doing house keeping job as a side hustle now. In the convenience store my hourly pay was around 6USD (1USD=146.44  27/8/2023) 880 JPY. I have heard that there are some jobs that hourly wage is around 5-6 USD in United States as well but that not including tips that we don't have in Japan so these two cannot be compared. In Costco my hourly wage was 10 USD, 1500 JPY so it's quite high compared to convenience store but still low.

As a kitchen hand I am paid 14 USD hourly now and in the house keeping job I am paid 14.5 USD. It's more than doubled from I was working at convenience store and also quite a jump from Costco as well. Costco is a multinational company so they definitely has a different way of management that causes to pay employee relatively high hourly wage so I think it should be treated as an exemption from other jobs in Japan. Also in a toughness wise I have never felt any difference between convenience store and Costco and moreover it might be more easier at Costco.

The cost of living in Japan is cheap therefore there's not much problem even with that hourly wage but that spurs us to work 40 hours a week at least like a full time job to keep life going. Although in New Zealand I don't feel urge to work 40 hours a week to live because of the hourly wage and that give me the spare time that I mentioned on the today's title. Having money to spare is also an important thing but it is not my top priority at this moment. I need to save up some money for a next trip but I will also stay in New Zealand until next June so time will tell (finger crossed).

I advocate that spare time enriches our life indeed. I think most of the people knew it already though. I wouldn't say I make most out of it since I indulge myself scrolling Twitter, instagram etc but I now can also have time to read, listening to music and write this blog so good on me and these are the things that enrich my life. I hope I can make my blog more longer someday but it doesn't necessarily mean good either I guess.
